Menopause is not the end of our vitality—it’s the beginning of a new chapter, one where we can thrive, flourish, and live with purpose.

Holistic Menopause approach

Menopausal symptoms often stem from lifestyle, beliefs, poor sleep, nutrition, lack of physical activity, emotional stress, past trauma, relationship challenges, work pressures, and environmental factors as well as the obvious hormonal fluctuations.

These lifestyle factors all play a role in either triggering or intensifying symptoms during menopause.

What is menopause?

Menopause is a natural life stage that marks the end of a woman’s menstrual cycles, usually occurring between the ages of 45 and 55. It’s confirmed after 12 months without a period and is caused by a drop in hormone levels, especially oestrogen. Common symptoms include hot flushes, mood changes, sleep difficulties, weight gain – which are all controllable when you know how!!!

for many women, is a recognition that time isn’t infinite and that it is important for them to do things for themselves which create a sense of fulfilment, and which meet their needs.

Many people don’t realise that menopause is not just about hot flushes and the end of periods. It can also bring about a range of physical, emotional, and psychological changes, such as:

Cognitive Changes: Memory lapses, brain fog, and difficulty concentrating are common during menopause, due to hormonal shifts

Skin and Hair Changes: Hormonal changes can lead to drier skin, hair thinning, or changes in texture.

Joint Pain: Decreased oestrogen levels can contribute to joint stiffness and aches.

Heart Health: The risk of cardiovascular issues can increase after menopause due to changes in cholesterol and blood pressure.

Sleep Disturbances: Hormonal fluctuations can interfere with sleep, leading to insomnia or disturbed sleep cycles.

Emotional Shifts: Mood swings, anxiety, or feelings of depression can be triggered by hormonal changes, alongside life adjustments.

Bone Health: Lower oestrogen levels can lead to a loss of bone density, increasing the risk of osteoporosis.

Changes in Libido: Hormonal shifts can affect sexual desire and arousal, leading to reduced libido or discomfort during sex.

Vaginal Dryness: Declining oestrogen levels can lead to vaginal dryness and irritation, which may affect intimacy.

Urinary Issues: Some women experience urinary incontinence or a more frequent need to urinate as a result of hormonal changes.

Increased Sensitivity to Temperature: Many women feel more sensitive to temperature changes, leading to discomfort in hot or cold environments.

Weight Gain: Metabolism slows during menopause, and hormonal fluctuations can lead to an increase in abdominal fat.

Changes in Menstrual Cycle: Before periods stop entirely, many women experience irregular cycles, heavier or lighter bleeding, or skipped periods.

Breast Changes: Hormonal changes can affect breast tissue, leading to tenderness, changes in size, or the development of lumps.

Menopause is a complex transition with a wide range of effects that can vary in intensity and duration for each woman. This is why It’s important to approach it with a holistic mindset, addressing both physical and emotional health.

By working with me I can help you thrive through menopause, your life and become aligned to your goals, dreams and life purpose.
